National History Club Meeting

Thanks to those students who attended our organizational meeting! We had over 20 students on hand. At our meeting we brainstormed several interesting ideas, including sponsoring debates at our school, and forming mock trial, moot court, and scholar’s bowl teams. Our next meeting is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 13 at 8 a.m. Want to learn about the National History Club? Check out this site: http://www.tcr.org/nhc/index.htm

 Social Studies-Class Summaries

6th Grade- Students are busy learning about the unique physical and cultural characteristics of Canada. I have been fielding many questions related to the similarities and differences between both countries!

7th Grade- Students presented their group projects on one of the following: the Maya, Inca, Aztec, Hohokam, and Anasazi. I was impressed with the amount of information and creative art in their presentations. Our next focus will be the impact the Age of Exploration had on these peoples of the Americas.

8th Grade- Kudos to the eighth grade for their hard work on our Corps of Discovery projects. Their outstanding work was on display during our recent Open House. Next, we turn our attention to the impact of the Industrial Revolution on American life.
