Seventh grade students who score above a certain level on the MAT-8 standardized tests qualify to participate in Duke University’s Talent Identification Program, or TIP. Those who choose to participate take the SAT (college board exam) in January.

Congratulations to Steven Benson and Cameron Seals Schwanke who earned Grand Level recognition by scoring above 650 on the math portion of the SAT. Steven and Cameron’s scores entitle them to attend an awards ceremony on the Duke campus in June and to the envy of many high school students taking the SAT!

Congratulations, too, to the State Level winners who qualified for that distinction by scoring at least a 510 on the math or verbal sections of the SAT: Abby Brinker, Quentin Chediak, Anna Hamilton, Sjobor Hammer, Elizabeth Kresie, Sarah Padgett, and Ashley Welch. Their outstanding performances qualify them for an awards ceremony at the University of Kansas.

These seventh graders are now eligible to participate in summer enrichment programs endorsed by Duke University
